West Indies and losing two games, plus notes on AFG v PAK

The West Indies have been on quite a roller coaster this World Cup. They started trying to bat too fast, they then lost a game by one player batting too slow, and even their winning game they lost wickets early, stopped mid-innings, slogged at the end, and then tried to misfield their way to a loss.
So through all this madness, there has been quite a bit of opinion on the West Indies team. And a lot of it shows just how much we overact to results in T20 cricket, and we how we rarely learn as much about the sport because of it.
Let's start with the two losses. In a recent podcast, Chennai lost three games in a row coming into the IPL finals, and no one blinked. You're going to lose games in T20, but where you lose them informs the narrative. And in this tournament, you can't afford much bad luck. But there is an element of luck in any T20 tournament.
