Interesting article. It prompted some random, vaguely related, thoughts:

if Sky are the only option, why do we see other broadcasters get the rights to overseas series?

I'm pretty sure one of the ransom history pieces Sky did during the Ashes showed video branded Robelinda

The BBC coverage of the Hundred is appalling. This is not an "it's not designed for me" complaint, it just does not come across as competent. They've been doing it for a while now and they do other sports well so there is no excuse

Why am I forced to listen to the Sky commentary team? At the moment most of them seem reasonable, but every so often they bring in Pietersen, who I can't stand, and I have to mute it. It would be great if I could choose which commentary I wanted, so I could watch the Sky pictures with TMS (or whoever) without having to sync things myself.

I find the availability & popularity of domestic cricket on YouTube interesting. I think it is now possible to watch pretty much any county game that isn't televised, and while the quality on some is a bit iffy, some of them are essentially broadcast quality minus the gizmos. These streams only get a couple of thousand views in a lot of cases, and I wonder if that is because that is the genuine demand, or whether it is because the potential audience just does not know they are there
